The school was established in 1995, it started with 45 students from Uganda in the Mpigi district where there was a school called Kagurwe secondary school. Those students and their Headmaster Mr.NKURUNZIZA Peter Clever were all Rwandese by nationality.
In 2000, the school shifted and came to the Kagarama sector near the Nyanza sector of Kicukiro district. And again in 2005, the school changed its name to Kagarama Secondary school which now is its present name up to date and that’s when it became a government school. From 1995 up to 2013, the school continued changing its leaders i.e.the headmasters from the one who started the school to the present one.
