Davis College offers female students the choice to study in an all-female classroom. By choosing to study in an all-female classroom, those students will gain access to the Akilah Women’s Center, while taking advantage of all of Davis College’s resources and opportunities. When they graduate, those female students are awarded diplomas from Davis College, with an added Women’s Leadership Certificate in recognition of their time and participation in the Akilah Women’s Center.
In addition to learning in an all-female classroom, female students who access the Akilah Women’s Center will participate in workshops, seminars, and lectures with female business leaders, mentors, guest speakers, and visiting scholars.
The Akilah Women’s Center is also a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for all Davis College students and graduates, male and female. It serves as an in-house resource and advisory to Davis College students and faculty on gender awareness, gender-responsive pedagogy, gender equity classroom management, and other gender-based issues and approaches. Graduates can also take part in activities offered by the Center.
