Due to annual flooding that disrupts schools for hundreds of thousands of students, there are no fewer than 100 boat schools in countries like Bangladesh.

In some areas, roads are impassable during the rainy season from July to October, when rivers rise as much as four-meter, or 12 feet; hence and the need for boat schools is only the solution.

Each one of the boat schools has internet access, a library, and is solar-powered.

What is special about the boat school in Bangladesh? Boat schools were introduced with a simple philosophy: if children cannot get to school, schools will go to them and a number of 500 boat schools have now given more than 14,000 children in the remote wetland regions of Bangladesh the opportunity to access education.
