Alexis Ndahimana from ES, Kirinda, Karongi district and Orlyse Ineza of Gashora Girls academy Bugesera district respectively are this year’s best performers in Senior Six National exams.
Ndahimana who was pursuing an MCB combination was the overall best performing in the senior six national exams and Orlyse Ineza Gashora Girls respectively who was pursuing MPG combination.
The two students whose schools are both based in the upcountry have outperformed other students who sat for the senior six exams.
An improvement was marked in the performance where 94% of students passed compared to 85.3% for last year.
A total of 44,818 senior six candidates passed representing 94.6 percent of all candidates of which 41,636 got two principal passes.
Other best performer includes Gwiza Ngamije Nesta from Petit Seminaire Virgo Fidelis de Butare and Niyoyavuze Karebu of Cornerstone Leadership Academy and Erie Ntakirutimana of G.S.O Butare, Hirwa Sebera Rwanda School of Creative Arts and Music, Ashimwe Sibomana Reponse of World Mission Secondary School, Nyandwi Emmanuel Kagyeyo TVET school, Claude Dukundimana, IPRC TSS,Kigali, Charlotte Uwimbabazi ACEJ Karama and Irumva Habumugisha Anselme Rwanda Coding Academy.
The revised grading system was applied while marking exams where the maximum weighted aggregate achieved by a candidate who has excelled in all examination subjects scored 60 and 9 for the minimum weighted aggregate achieved by a successful candidate.
While TVET and TTC, passing a practical exam at a grade level of “A” is a “PASS” condition.
