The world football star Lionel Messi's farewell wasn't an easy step to his club, Barcelona that almost shaped him into what he is today. 

Messi joined Barcelona when he was just 13 years old and he is now 34 a reason why it wasn't easy for him to say goodbye.

Messi who emotionally failed to say for moments finally got up and said “It is very difficult times ever to say goodbye to my favorite team Fc Barcelona.  I wasn’t ready to leave you after living for almost my whole life, ”

Lionel Messi’s break-up with Barcelona has been called “the hardest time he has ever known.” His farewell party was attended by his family, as well as some of his fellow players.  Messi has refrained from commenting on his future in football, saying he has received various teams asking him to work with him.

It was on Thursday that Barcelona announced that they were no longer able to stay with Messi as one of their key players. 

Barcelona explained that it is difficult to have a contract that satisfies everyone because of the reduced wages due to the debts the team owes.  Barcelona FC president Joan Laporta explains that the financial crisis in his team has been caused by the pandemic.

Messi had applied for leave from Barcelona in late 2019, but Bartomeu took over the club at the time, he refused, thus Messi agreed to stay in the team by signing other contracts that had not been complied with due to issues with the club’s approach.

Lionel Messi has taken a step away from Barcelona FC after nearly 20 years of playing for it.    

He has led his team to four Champions League and other major competitions.  Messi left a team while is still at the forefront of Barcelona’s most goalscorers: in a total of 778 games, he has scored 672 goals.
