One child has already been reported dead in a bus accident that tragically took place on Monday morning when the driver lost control and collided with a tree in a steep forest in Rebero, Kicukiro district.
Kenny Mugabo was among the hospitalized 27 people, including a bus driver and a teacher that was injured in a fatal accident and sources told us he was bruised with severe injuries compared to others.
Shortly, after the accident, President Paul Kagame also took on his Twitter to console the parents of the children who were injured in the school bus.
“I have known about the school bus accident that took place in Rebero this morning. We wish the entire child a quick recovery and we console their families. We are doing what is possible to ensure that all children involved in the accident are treated well,” Kagame wrote in a Tweet.
A fatal accident took place on Monday around 8 am when students were heading to Path To Success school.
Kenny Mugabo was a Primary Five student at Path To Success.
So far, the causes of the accident have not been reported but it is said the driver lost braking control while speeding on a steep road.
The issues of old school buses still remain one of the major public concerns as most of these cars are very old to transport students. In most cases, school buses have no license to operate plus carry a bigger number of students than required.
