Stephanie Frappart led one of the 5th game in the UEFA Champions League group stages that happened last night on 2nd December 2020 and become the first woman to lead a game in Men’s UEFA Champions League.
As Juventus and Dynamo Kiev were crashing each other, many people were surprised by the history being marked by Stephanie Frappart leading the game as a central referee.
Stephanie continues to break records having been the one who led the 2019 UEFA Super Cup between Liverpool and Chelsea. She also led the final game of the women's World Cup in 2019 when USA met with Netherland in the final game.
Stephanie is an international 36-year-old French referee, who became the first woman to lead the men's French football league (ligue1) for the first when Amiens played against Strasbourg in April last year. She also led a game in the Europa League between Leicester City and Zorya Luhansk.
The international French football referee was born on 14th December 1983 and has been on the FIFA international Referee list since 2009.

In 2014, Frappart became the first woman to referee in Ligue 2, the second tier of professional men’s football in France. She also served as a referee at the 2015 FIFA Women’s world cup in Canada.

On 30th November 2020, the UEFA Champions League announced that Frappart would be the first woman to referee a game in that competition, officiating at a game between Juventus and Dynamo Kiev that happened last night on this Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
In history, the first woman to referee a men’s game is Nicole Petignat. She refereed three games in the tournament of finding qualifications for the UEFA Cup in 2004 and 2009.
