Students at the University of Rwanda, Huye campus have been given a timeline to vaccinate against the COVID-19 in the target to vaccinate its mass population by December.
This has come after a number of students at the campus were vaccinated and others lagged behind.
Sources from the students say vaccinated students are among those who have refused to take more jabs.
“After finding that the students are reluctant to receive more than one jab, the university administration for protection measures disallowed unvaccinated students to enter the Campus," Ronald Mugabo, Guild President, the UR Huye Campus.
Mugabo told The Campus that a big number of students who are lagging are those that have received one jab but are reluctant to take another jab. "Those who will remain unvaccinated by this time will get no more opportunities to be supported by the Campus," he warned.
“This seems to be the last chance they are given by the campus because others were protected in semester 1 and even at the beginning of semester 2,” he adds.
The campus is made up of a total population of 6,000 students but the number of students who were vaccinated against Covid-19 so far is still unknown as the student immunization campaign continues.
