UR student who was studying at Nyagatare campus has been found dead in his house during the mid-day of Tuesday.
Valens Habayintwali’s dead body was immediately transferred to Kigali for the cause of death and it is said that he had no medical problem apart from a slight eye injury.
Elia Ninsiima, the guild president of UR Nyagatare Campus said they heard multiple ring phones in the deceased house and informed the landlord which they immediately broke the door but surprisingly he was already dead.
“Finding out this we immediately informed RIB to come and do investigation,” Ninsiima said.
However, Habayintwali’s relatives informed RIB that the accident that the deceased recently got in Burera district might be the cause of his death.
“Habayintwali usually had a problem of being unconscious as a result of the accident and we suspect it might be the cause of his death,” a relative to Habayintwali said.
The relative added, “In 2020, he experienced a fatal moto accident which left him with a side effect of being unconscious but he had no other problem by then,”
The Head of UR Nyagatare, Dr. Martin Ntawubizi requested the students not to always stay in houses alone but better to find friends and stay together.
Dr. Ntwawubizi Martin added, “it’s true that the student was found dead though the cause of his death is not yet revealed, we have a shortage of hostels for students but I those who stay in so-called ghettos to always find friends to stay with them because it helps in communication in case of any problem,”
“The dead, Habayintwali stayed with a friend it’s just that the friend had gone home and therefore had stayed alone in the house,” Dr. Ntwawubizi added.
Habayintwali was pursuing Education under government scholarship and 30 years old.
