Multilingualism is a situation where some have the ability to speak and write more than two to three languages fluently.
But when do we say that somebody is a linguist and how does it help them?
A person becomes a linguist when he or she knows grammatical rules and the communicative competence of the languages. He must also be someone who has knowledge and skills about different languages.
In a multilingual setting, someone who can arrange the special condition of many languages is on way to his or her success because modern commercialization requires a complexity of languages and capability of communication skills for some to be able to reach a diversity of clientele.
A person who can at least communicate in more than two languages through writing, interpretation is also in a good position to use these languages as a source of income.
Nowadays linguists are rare because, for instance, their capability of speaking many languages like English, French, Kinyarwanda and Kiswahili place them into fertile grounds for job creation.
There are different types of linguists here we can monolingual, bilingual, multilingual and plurilingual. And the relationship that unites is the ability to use many languages.
